Meet Our Ambassador

Noxolo Ntshangase

Introduction

My name is Noxolo Lesedi Mbali Ntshangase, and I am a 21-year-old quadriplegic (C6-C7 incomplete). I was not born with a disability — I sustained a spinal cord injury in a motor vehicle accident in 2020 while I was in Grade 10, preparing to move to Grade 11.

The journey since then has not been easy. I had to learn to adapt to a completely new way of living, both physically and emotionally, while continuing my education. Despite these challenges, I persevered and successfully completed my schooling.

I am currently studying my Higher Certificate in Law and further pursuing my LLB Degree in Law with the support of the Nthuse Foundation. This course serves as a stepping stone toward my dream of becoming a Lawyer, so that I can advocate for the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities in South Africa.

Living with a disability has opened my eyes to the daily barriers faced by people like me — from accessibility issues to limited educational and employment opportunities. However, it has also given me strength, empathy, and a passion to inspire and empower others living with disabilities to believe in their worth and potential. And being an advocate and ambassador for the Nthuse Foundation, who have helped me pursue my dreams and further my studies and supporting me thought my journey in becoming a legal advocate for youth living with disabilities.

Being selected as a Miss South Africa Disability Finalist 2025 is more than a title for me it is a platform for advocacy. Through it, I hope to:

  • Raise awareness about the realities and capabilities of people with disabilities,

  • Promote accessibility and inclusion in education and employment, and Inspire others to pursue their dreams and support organisations such as the Nthuse Foundation for partnership and support to help me continue making a positive impact.

  • The Nthuse Foundation has empowered me personally but our partnership and collaboration will also extend to others living with disabilities through outreach projects and awareness initiatives

  • My goal together with the Nthuse Foundation and sponsors is to continue building sustainable initiatives that uplift people living with disabilities and promote inclusive communities across South Africa. I believe that together, we can create long-term change — empowering people with disabilities to live with dignity, independence, and purpose.

  • I, the Nthuse Foundation and with your support and donations, we can continue turning challenges into purpose and extend hope to many others who share a similar journey.
